Jump Start's Philosophy
Every student is different, whether it be different learning styles, base knowledge, or skill development. Jump Start Tutoring provides a personalised, tailored approach to helping each student reach their full potential.
Our tutors are familiar with the New Zealand school system, having been through it themselves recently, and know all the tips and tricks for efficient and effective learning. From revision techniques to exam prep to subject resources, we can help students learn how to learn.
Regular, on-going tutorials with one tutor gives students ample opportunity to learn the curriculum, develop learning strategies, and build skills. One-on-one or small-group support lets the tutor focus on shoring up weaknesses and addressing questions and concerns that students have in a positive and supportive environment.
This also builds confidence and enjoyment of the subject. A lot of students worry about asking "stupid" questions, or believe that they’re “just not good” at a subject - or at school altogether. Our tutors will help them work through the areas they’ve struggled in, and students will be able to see for themselves the progress they are making in their learning, building their confidence in and enjoyment of the subject.
This is why we offer a free initial consultation - to discuss what areas the student needs help in and work out a plan for going forwards.
